Many congratulations to Roger Mallinson upon being awarded the MBE. When a Sunderland flying boat came to Windermere in 1990, Roger’s steam launch Shamrock acted as tender and also when a Catalina flying boat visited in 1994. Roger attended the replica Waterbird events, with and without Shamrock. He is a long-term supporter of the Waterbird Project – this photo is from an event in 2011. 2 students made models of Waterbird under his tuition.
